Construction and comparison of high temperature fixed points at NRC and CEM

Abstract This paper describes the collaborative project between National Research Council of Canada (NRC) and Centro Español de Metrología (CEM) for construction comparison high temperature fixed points (HTFPs). A hybrid-type crucible that uses piston method filling has been jointly developed. series 12 point blackbodies (HTFPBBs) have constructed, including Cu, Ru-C, Ir-C, Re-C WC-C covering range from 1084°C to 2750°C. All these cells were filled in NRC facilities by CEM staff. Two each type constructed (except cells), using crucibles two different suppliers order study influence density emissivity HTFPs’ performance. Moreover, four made tungsten powder suppliers, all possible combinations acquired this project. cells, additionally a Pt-C HTFPBB belonging NRC, measured firstly at and, afterwards, CEM. Both laboratories calculated ITS-90 temperatures their respective measurements results compared. Differences on HTFPBBs lab are within uncertainties comparison. After comparison, kept one Cu cell, Ru-C cell cells. The rest involved sent back NRC.
